You will take full operational responsibility for the service, ensuring residents receive outstanding, person-centred care while leading, developing and motivating a high-performing team.

The role

As Care Home Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the home’s day-to-day operation. You will create a safe, supportive and engaging environment where residents are treated with dignity, respect, independence and choice.

You will be responsible for maintaining excellent care standards, regulatory compliance, occupancy, team performance and financial management.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the daily operation of the home, ensuring consistently high standards of care and service.

  • Lead, support and develop the care team through recruitment, induction, supervision, appraisal, training and regular team meetings.
  • Manage staffing levels, rotas, absence and retention to maintain safe and effective care delivery.
  • Oversee medication management, including ordering, stock control, administration and accurate record keeping.
  • Build strong relationships with residents, families, healthcare professionals, local authorities and other external stakeholders.
  • Manage budgets, expenditure, financial records and reporting accurately.
  • Support occupancy through professional enquiry handling, home tours, assessments and admissions.
  • Promote the home within the local community and ensure an excellent experience for prospective residents and their families.

About you

You will be a compassionate, commercially aware and confident leader with a genuine commitment to delivering outstanding care.

Essential experience and skills:

  • Previous experience as a Care Home Manager or Deputy Manager within elderly care.
  • Strong understanding of residential and dementia care.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and retain a care team.
  • Experience managing budgets, occupancy and operational performance.
  • Excellent knowledge of relevant care legislation, regulatory requirements and health and safety.

  • A professional, approachable and hands-on leadership style.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and developing others.

Desirable:
