Edinburgh | Full-time | 37.5 hours per week
Salary up to £42,000 per annum, plus private health insurance and workplace pension.

Leaders in Care is recruiting an Outpatient Nurse for an independent private hospital in Edinburgh, specialising in cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery, skin surgery and dermatology.

This role combines nurse-led outpatient clinics, pre-operative assessments and post-operative wound care. You’ll join a small, supportive nursing team, working independently while contributing to a coordinated patient journey.

Benefits

  • Salary up to £42,000 per annum.
  • Private health insurance package.
  • Workplace pension.
  • Comprehensive induction and ongoing support.
  • Opportunities to develop your clinical skills within a specialist surgical setting.

The role

As an Outpatient Nurse, you will:

  • Deliver nurse-led outpatient services, including wound care and post-operative suture removal.
  • Undertake complex and non-complex pre-operative assessments for elective surgical patients.
  • Prepare patients for treatment and explain post-operative care and discharge instructions.
  • Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate individualised nursing care.
  • Administer medication and treatments in line with hospital protocols.
  • Take delegated responsibility for the department during assigned shifts.
  • Support junior nurses and healthcare support staff.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to audits and quality improvement.

About you

You will need:

  • Current NMC registration as an Adult Nurse.
  • Substantial acute nursing experience.
  • Experience and clinical competence in plastic and/or cosmetic surgery.
  • Wound care experience and competence in suture removal.
  • Confidence delivering nurse-led outpatient services independently.
  • Strong clinical assessment, communication and organisational skills.
  • A patient-centred approach and commitment to discretion and professional standards.
  • The right to work in the UK and willingness to meet the role’s PVG requirements.

Experience within an NHS board or day surgery setting, and knowledge of post-operative cosmetic surgery care, would be advantageous.
