Are you an experienced Duty & Assessment Social Worker looking for a role with manageable caseloads, flexible working arrangements, and strong management support?

We're currently working with a well-regarded West Country local authority that is actively recruiting experienced Social Workers into its Duty & Assessment Service. The authority is committed to maintaining low caseloads, enabling practitioners to complete high-quality assessments and make informed decisions that achieve positive outcomes for children and families.

The Role

  • You will be responsible for carrying out timely assessments and interventions, including:
  • Completing Child and Family Assessments
  • Responding to referrals and undertaking initial visits
  • Managing duty responsibilities and safeguarding concerns
  • Conducting Section 47 enquiries where required Risk assessment and decision-making Multi-agency partnership working
  • Progressing cases to the most appropriate service pathway
  • Working closely with children, families, and partner agencies

Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker Current
  • Social Work England registration
  • Previous experience within a Duty & Assessment, Referral & Assessment, or Front Door service
  • Strong assessment and risk management skills
