Ofsted Registered Manager – Children’s Home

North London / Enfield | £55,000–£58,000 + exceptional bonuses & benefits

Ready to open and lead a children’s home where your ideas, leadership and care can genuinely change lives?

Leaders in Care is recruiting an ambitious, values-led Ofsted Registered Manager for a growing children’s residential care provider expanding across North London.

This is more than a Registered Manager post. You’ll have a genuine opportunity to help develop new services from the ground up, build an outstanding team and create a home where children feel safe, valued and able to thrive.

You’ll support children and young people aged 7–17 who have experienced loss, instability or trauma. Using a trauma-informed, PACE-based approach, you’ll help them rebuild trust, confidence and hope—while leading a service that delivers excellent care and strong Ofsted outcomes.

Why this role stands out

  • £55,000–£58,000 salary
  • £1,500 bonus for a Good Ofsted inspection
  • £3,000 bonus for an Outstanding Ofsted inspection
  • £150 per child, per month above agreed occupancy
  • 31 days’ annual leave, including bank holidays, plus your birthday off
  • Paid on-call allowance
  • Fully funded training and qualifications, including the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare
  • Clear routes into Senior Registered Manager, Area Manager or Internal Trainer roles
  • Up to two days’ hybrid working and flexitime options, where operationally appropriate
  • Wellness allowance and Employee Assistance Programme
  • Properly resourced homes, including budgets for activities, training, maintenance and holidays
  • Mileage expenses, a company vehicle when required, and meals on shift
  • Referral bonuses, Blue Light Card discounts, company socials and donation-match scheme

The opportunity

This provider already operates children’s homes across the South West, London and Durham and is investing in further expansion. You’ll be joining at an exciting point of growth, with the autonomy to lead well and the backing to build something exceptional.

Whether you are an established Registered Manager looking for a more progressive employer, or a high-performing Deputy Manager ready to take the next step, this is a rare opportunity to make your mark.

What you’ll do

As Registered Manager, you will:

  • Lead the day-to-day running of a children’s residential home in North London.
  • Build, develop and retain a motivated, skilled and child-focused staff team.
  • Act as the home’s Safeguarding Lead, always putting children’s welfare first.
  • Deliver high-quality, trauma-informed and therapeutic care.
  • Ensure the home is fully compliant with Ofsted, safeguarding requirements and the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
  • Oversee admissions, transitions, care planning, risk management and record-keeping.
  • Support young people’s independence, education, health and emotional wellbeing.
  • Develop positive, professional relationships with families, social workers, schools and external agencies.
  • Drive quality assurance, audits, improvement plans and excellent inspection readiness.
  • Help shape the culture, standards and future growth of new services.

What we’re looking for

You’ll be a compassionate, resilient and credible leader who can balance high standards with a warm, child-centred approach.

Essential experience

  • At least five years’ experience working with children in residential care.
  • At least two years’ experience in a supervisory, Deputy Manager or management-level role.
  • Experience supporting children with Learning Disabilities (LD) and/or Emotional, Developmental or Behavioural needs.
  • A demonstrable track record of achieving, or contributing to, at least a Good Ofsted outcome.
  • Strong experience in safeguarding, staff leadership, care planning and regulatory compliance.

Essential qualifications and knowledge

  • A minimum Level 3 qualification in Children’s Residential Care, or fully recognised equivalent.
  • Strong working knowledge of Ofsted requirements and the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • The confidence and motivation to register with Ofsted, if not already registered.
