Deputy Manager (Supported Living – Mental Health)
Location: Chorlton, Manchester
Salary: £36,000 per annum (includes shared on-call)
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm

We are looking to recruit a Deputy Service Manager to work within a small, well-established supported living service in Chorlton, Greater Manchester.  The service provides 24-hour support for adults living with enduring mental health needs, and supports 15 tenants aged between 18 and 75.

Due to expansion, we are seeking a Deputy Manager to join the leadership team. You will work alongside the existing Deputy and Registered Manager (both clinical) to ensure the highest standards of care and support.

The Role
  • Provide day-to-day management support for staff and tenants.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop the team to deliver safe, person-centred care.
  • Ensure compliance with CQC standards and company policies.
  • Contribute to clinical oversight (if a nurse), or provide strong operational leadership (if non-clinical with relevant experience).
  • Participate in the shared on-call rota with the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager (must be able to attend site if required – therefore a driver is preferred).
  • Support the ongoing development of a new step-down service, helping tenants build independence and resilience.

The Ideal Candidate
  • Registered Nurse (RGN or RMN) with experience in mental health, OR an experienced non-nurse with a strong background in supported living/mental health services.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, ideally with previous deputy or senior experience.
  • Knowledge of supported living frameworks, mental health conditions, and recovery-focused care.
  • Organised, approachable, and able to work collaboratively within a small team.
  • Flexible and willing to share on-call duties as part of the management team.
  • A full driving licence is desirable due to occasional out-of-hours requirements.

What You Will Be Offered;
  • A supportive, close-knit working environment in a long-established service.
  • Opportunity to make a real impact in a small but growing organisation.
  • Annual salary of £36,000.
  • Monday–Friday working hours (9am–5pm), with shared on-call duties.
  • Professional development and scope to contribute to service expansion.
